Sailors ALWAYS head for the out of bounds areas when visiting foreign ports. It used to make me chuckle when we were somewhere like say, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the whole ships company is there after we were all told specifically by our U.S. hosts that it was out of bounds. A good night...
Well said! I'll join you with Vancouver if it's North America we're talking about; great place.
No-one gone for anywhere in Alaska yet. Unbelievable scenery & wildlife. Very lucky to have been there a few times; Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Seward, Sitka, Whittier, Haines. Not done Anchorage...
I was probably a bit harsh, but you know how it is when you spend so much time in a place. I suppose my lack of Spanish doesn't help me get by so much & the locals lack of English!
Just remembered another place that was really good. Wilmington NC, & just down the road Wrightsville Beach. Was there with the RN for a few days in the summer of 98.
A GREAT time was had by all.
As you can probably tell, all the places I recommend are ports! I think I've done most of them...
Not a city, but a town. Astoria in Oregon. Been there a few times, loved it, especially the 1 time there was a beer festival.
You can't really beat NY for cities, I like Seattle though.
I'm in Miami a lot, not fond!
