    I've enlarged the image, for members of the Flat Earth Society and others. See that thing sticking up on top of the hill, it's a monument to Nelson. That's Nelson the sailor not the ex President of South Africa. I suspect most of you thought Nelson's column was in Trafalgar square.

    I've sailed to the Solent from Brighton, Newhaven and Shoreham hundreds of times and back in all sorts of boats for the past fifty years. If that is not the Isle of Wight and Portsdown Hill then my navigation is shit, because this is the view you get as you get closer, only from sea level obviously.

    I saw this when it was clear a few weeks ago. It's the chalk Cliffs behind Portsmouth that have the Naval Station on top.
