I do hope that one of that lovely Mr Barber's minions is keeping up to date with this thread so he can report back what an absolute tit "the boss" has made himself look as a result of the bottle top ban fiasco.
If tops on fizzy pop bottles are such a clear and obvious threat to our safety and...
Interesting scenario entering NS on Friday. Bit late; train cockups again so quite a queue.
Unzipped my rucksack to be helpful as always. Got to the head of the queue and a steward just shouted "in, in" at me (and others) without a search or checking my rucksack.
Forget the knife, alcohol...
Strikes me as odd that flasks have only now become an issue.
We were in the PL and owned by a Jew, with a large American sponsor and two Israeli players last season and I don't recall any flask related safety or security issues.

No! And an exhaustive search has not turned up one instance of a "flask related safety issue" at any football match, at any level, anywhere in the world. (Or any sporting event for that matter). And having had six years of flask free "safety issues" at the Amex, why is it only a problem NOW...
It defies ALL logic. I am not aware that there has EVER been a security incident at a football match involving a thermos. I could be wrong but after more than 50 pages I'm sure somebody would have told us if there had been.
Unless the police have specifically stated that they have...
And here's another reason why Barber's explanation doesn't stack up.
Why is it only NOW that flasks have become a "safety and security" issue? Has there been some kind of revolution in flasks that now makes them so much more dangerous from a "safety and security" perspective than last...
It follows on from the "no liquids" policy you get at some events / festivals. The only motivation for this change is to force you to buy inside the event at inflated prices. Of course, Barber has ignored the long queues and appalling service at the kiosks ever since the Amex opened so I have...
