[Albion] AEK Athens - ticketing process, tiers and all that jazz

Same 2 aways and at Forest too! Both great in there own ways. Was an unbelievable week from Forest to Athens, and was very lucky to also experience the pretty raucous flight from Stansted! The whole mini holiday and experience in Athens was better imho, a much nicer city, but the stadium...

Was there less than 48 hours and plenty of Mythos, few Mamos and a couple of Gyros too! (Couldnt resist, miles nicer than UK kebabs).

Exactly this. Athens is a free country in the EU, people can move how they want accepting advice on risks. It's not an organised tour to North Korea!

On the ticket pick up email. There's a travel advice link, says last updated 7th Nov, and adds "for your safety and security we advise......." Anyway, picked hotel quite near and walking distance to ground and not traveling the opposite direction on metro, to get a bus that arrives 3 hours...

What they could and should do is try and arrange for the busses to leave at 6pm. Dare say a few more might then.

Not actually bothered about getting it away from ground, possibly safer anyway. But to sit in a dry stadium for circa 3 hours is not my idea of a decent away day. Seems designed to make the police job easier?

Greek police "advise". Was the same in Marseille though plenty made journey solo. Oh damn, I think I just missed the bus!

Knock AEK out is subjective. They may be out of EL if we win, but theres a good chance they could still be in the conference league.

In all seriousness with @dazzer6666 pretty conclusive evidence the stadium itself will be dry, is there anyone who likes a drink, that's going to get a bus there 3 hours before kick off?

Thanks to all those who gave advice and posted info, yesterday I finally managed to get a ticket in away end! Having hit F5 so many times I got banned twice, when Tier 3 was first released. Yesterday I had a 1 hour window with internet connection at work, very first thing I did was try Albion...

I've got blocked twice for doing it, system thinks you're a robot. But nothing VPN can't mitigate. Original ip seems to reset again and work a while later, if you do get blocked.

If anyone is getting trains to/from Stansted/Luton/Heathrow etc, can throughly recommend a relatively new app called trainpal (I used to use trainline.or national rail) it will automatically do split tickets where possible, so you can still stay on same train but save a decent amount of wedge...

But that isn't true as tiers 1&2 added tier 3 mates and @Colonel Mustard was lucky to bag one as a tier 3 only after tier 3 2pm eligibility. Message to club me thinks 🤔

An interesting question, as if a few go on sale in say 2 weeks+, all lower tiers even after 2pm Monday would also have passed their buy eligibility dates. Would any additional in a few weeks, just be tiers 1&2, 1,2&3, 3 only or all tiers?
