the actual Krabi Town is average at best - had very few decent bars and not much going on - Railey beach is stunning though and worth a trip. As for the island which some have mentioned - I'd say for party go to Phi Phi, Koh Phagnan and to some extent Koh Tao although the latter is very chilled...

can I just ask the people that have been what the fuss is about Phuket? is it that good? we didn't bother and after the crazy start our beach/party time was spent on Koh Tao, Koh Panghan, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. I'd say the best island depends what you want to do - dive, party,relax?
