Bolton lost 1-2 at home playing against 10 men for an hour today. Blackpool have a wafer thin squad that has been playing backs to the wall football all season, including against us. We have not been beaten in 4 games including 2 very competitive draws away at 2 of he best sides in the league...
Bolton, Blackpool, Rotherham, Birmingham and probably every other team currently in the bottom half.
It'd be worrying if the last 3 draws were nervy back to the wall affairs where we defended for 90 minutes and the keeper had a blinder. However they were anything but, and one of them was away...
This is what I put verbatim:
'This. And the fact that we'll probably look to strengthen where needed in January, as we have done in the past 2 seasons.'
Could be take either way. As for what TB says he hates doing, I think that the actions speak louder: during the last 2 seasons we have made...
We made a 1m+ bid for a Grabban and also a bid for Conway, so to suggest that we didn't attempt to strengthen isn't true. And the season before we bought Ulloa and tried to but Van Dyke (eventually getting Upson instead), so my point is that TB isn't afraid of using the January window.
I agree; Charlton have a decent side and are unbeaten for a reason. The fact that we looked so good against them for long spells the other week (and dominated in terms of possession and chances) should be enough to give confidence that we're not one of the 3 worst teams in the division.
