    I went to a game at Southampton last season and noticed similar size crowd how a longer walk to the station disperses people obviously more option to walk, bus etcand walkable pubs butpart of the problem atFalmer is the station is too close so queues stack up.     I'm sure some, possibly all of this is a contributory factor. You can't force ppl on the platform to board the next train and if they don't it's probably too late to let an equal number on board the platform to replace them. If they were let more on the platform it might well delay the train...
