Oh right. I can't actually find a comment like that in his apologies on twitter or in the press I've seen. Happy to accept I've missed it. Can someone point me in the direction of it?
So if a mate made a joke about Kate's second baby, would you say "Sorry Phil, why didn't you make that joke about her first child?".
NSC, full of budding detectives. :lolol:
I'm so confused by that logic. If you make a joke for the first time, then there won't be previous examples of it. I'm sure he doesn't sit there, waiting every year for a royal birth and think "YES, time to do that pic again"
Did he ACTUALLY say that? Did he ACTUALLY say he didn't KNOW the...
I believe every word of that. It makes complete sense and, as he said "The picture in context as presented was obviously shamefully racist. It was never intended so - seriously who on earth would 'go there'?
A silly mistake, but not one of a racist. Move on.
I may have missed something but did he ACTUALLY say he "DIDN'T KNOW" she was mixed race?
He said, when he posted the image, the issue of her race didn't even cross his mind in relation to the image. When I saw the image on twitter, the issue of her race didn't cross my mind.....but I know she...
But genuinely, can you see a scenario where he would look at the picture first, actually realise it had potentially racial connotations (which would lead to a shit storm) and still decide it was good to post it?
I simply can't fathom that.
I'd LOVE to know what that scenario would be.
"Ah, what a LOVELY morning. Haven't I done well in life. Do you know what, I REALLY fancy posting that racist picture today. I've got a right CORKER up my sleeve. That would be funny. What's the worst that could happen? I'm sure no-one would mind...
So, you can't insult (let's be crazy and call it a 'joke) anyone about anything because some people might misunderstand the original insult and think you are doing a different much worse kind of insult......even if you weren't at all.....and at that point losing your job is fine as it's a...
This is the thing though. It's SO thick that I can't possibly see it being an sort of deliberate racial thing. If there was ANY knowingly racial element to it (which he would KNOW would mean he is going to be sacked) he surely wouldn't have posted it.
