[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

"T'is a shame that Albion aren't going to prove that later......." As a sports journalist of many years at regional and national level, I am a cynic (pessimist) sometimes, but you......talk about defeatist::) You asked why I did not want Burnley in Europe - I've given my reasons and will leave...

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

Tarkowski had already injured his hand (later X-rays showed a break). Murray knew about the injury and grabbed hold of JT hand.....so Tarkowski half-heartedly punched GM in stomach. I agree stupidity by Tarkowski but not great behaviour by Murray.

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

I'll tell you one thing....if Brighton or any other "upstart" club like Burnley get among the Top Six and ruffle a few feathers, it won't take long before the PL "bigwigs", with the help of referees, try to make sure you do not stay there. Don't even get me started on the Spurs home game (0-3...

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

Actually played very well at City in FA Cup and were leading 1-0 and in no trouble with about half an hour to go before terrible refereeing incompetence set up Aguero's 57th-minute leveller.

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

Bong might get a bit of stick, but I think the main "hate figure" for Burnley fans tomorrow will be Murray because of the "theatrical" way he managed to win a penalty at The Amex. Also, the "snidey" way he triggered a three-match ban for Tarkowski has not been forgotten and is still a sore...

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

Domestic cups?:) I've seen us in two losing semi-finals. FA Cup in 1974 when we were FAVOURITES to beat Newcastle. Lost 0-2 (hit the woodwork three times). But worse was in 1969 League Cup semi-final when we were a top flight team against THIRD division Swindon. After both teams won the away...

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

I am one of the older generation. I was too young when Burnley reached the last 8 of the European Cup in 1961 (lost 5-4 on agg to Uwe Seeler's Hamburg) but was at school for our last Europe campaign in 1967 after we had finished 3rd behind Liverpool & Leeds (it was the UEFA Cup - now Europa Cup)...

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

Probably, most of our hosts (14 out of 18) have been left scratching their heads this season - Stoke being the latest.:)

I think it would also suit Dyche & Hughton. Just think of the travel and hotel bills that could have been saved.:) I'm doing a Brighton/Leicester double:) Do we really want an away match in Kazakhstan or Armenia in the middle of July? (which we would probably lose).

[Football] Seagulls to defy the odds....

....with a surprise away win at Turf Moor tomorrow. The bookies have Burnley as favourites, Merson predicts 2-1 to Clarets, Lawrenson a 2-0 home win, the statistical "WhoScored" 1-0 to Burnley. The "experts" and pundits have excelled in getting most BFC results wrong this season and I don't...
