The reason I ask is that, depending on your age, I've probably been watching Brighton since before you were born.
Re what I said about Chris Hughton, it was to some extent tongue in cheek. His was a very dour brand of football, but he got us up and for that he is written eternally in the...
Good idea.
We could talk about how negative and boring the football was until Potter saved us and converted us from perennial relegation contenders into a top-half team.
Not sure what you would call it, though. Maybe Escape (from soul-destroying football) to Victory!
I agree with what a lot of people are saying. GP2 did a decent job, but the rather unbecoming manner in which he left prevents me from lionising him.
Of the last 6 managers, the only really bad one has been Sami Hyypiä. GP2 was not bad from a purely footballing point of view, just a bit lacking...
Hmm... I suppose you are technically right: it could mean that the first thing is better, but it doesn't necessarily have to. It's a bit like someone who says they have 2 cars when they have more than 2. They're not lying if they say they have 2, because they do, it's just that they also have...

Thinking about it, this is not true. If you say his leaving was "the best thing to happen to BHAFC since he joined BHAFC", that implies that his joining us was better than his leaving us, which would imply that GP's arrival was a greater thing than RDZ's arrival (what sort of weirdo would think...
To be fair, I feel warmer towards Chris Hughton who not only got us up, but also did what is often considered even harder than getting in the Premier League kept us up, for two seasons.
I liked what someone said, which was that GP leaving BHAFC turned out to be the best thing to happen to BHAFC...
