The question is, if Poyet had stayed (I think we can now assume he's as good as gone) would we have gone up next season? I think we would have had an outstanding chance. If he hasn't done anything to justify his suspension, the club are going to have a hell of a lot of questions to answer.
The more I hear about this, the more it sounds like a stitch-up job. What better way to prevent someone from defending themselves than not giving them an adequate chance to prepare a defence (and then releasing a statement which lays the blame for lack of progress on their shoulders?)
Totally. It seems reasonable for Gus and his representatives to have the chance to digest all the material before the disciplinary hearing. Anyone on here in a similar situation would believe this to be their right, too.
What do people think about the investigations into the three all being conducted separately - are they accused of the same thing, or different things? If they have all behaved in unrelated ways that have warranted their suspension, it does make the whole thing seem like a witch hunt. As if...
It is not 'pathetic'. It's what he has been advised to do by his lawyers. They have obviously told him it is in his best interests legally not to attend.
