My prediction of the cut being 1 defender, 1 midfielder and 2 strikers was close. Was 1 defender (Dier) and 3 strikers (Bamford, Afobe, Woodrow). Possibly would have been as per my guess, but for an injury to Bamford, letting in Loftus-Cheek.

If the remit was simply to pick the best 23 individual talents, then you might well be right. But as it is to pick a settled SQUAD, that offers flexibility, and continuation of a fine qualifying campaign, you'll hopefully be proved wrong. He was ever present in the starting XI in the latter...
