That's what I thought, and I used to play in one there myself as a kid. It was run by Bevendean Barcelona, I think. Well according to 'Natalie' at the Council, they must provide their own nets.
Which sounds very odd to me, but what can you do?!
Right Gentlemen - we have a small snag.
The council are happy to mark out and hire a couple of small sided pitches, but they do this specially, and don't apparently possess any small goals!
They tell me that when a junior club runs a summer 6-a-side event, they provide their own goals.
So...
For the last time. There is no date yet! I have e-mailed the council to ask which venues are being set up with 6-a-side pitches, and to check availibility. The 29th is my proposed date because of all the weekends in the summer holidays, it is the one when a lot of people from around the country...
There is no reason at all that it should be NSC exclusive, though my team will be predominantly NSC.
It will not be set up as a REMF event, unless US contacts me and would like it to be. I will, however be aiming for it to make a £100 profit, which will be handed to the REMF as a donation.
As...
:)
Bring your other team. We will need the numbers.
Hopefully we will have the following [all TBC];
1. REMF
2. Crocs
3. NSC select [someone *cough*Frutos*cough* will need to organise this if Chris is abdicating his RESPONSIBILITIES and running off to the crocs].
4. Lizards
5. Exiles :wave...
Good man, yourself.
Otherwise you can even be in MY team. I'm having the trophy made with our name already engraved on it. We are going to be MINT.*
:jester: *It only has me in it at the moment!
The 29th July is only a planned date at the moment. I'm waiting for a reply from the council.
Hopefully that day at Waterhall. Start time would depend how many teams were entered, but I was envisaging 11.00am onwards.
I have e-mailed the Parks and Recreation department of the council to enquire about price and availability of mini-pitches at waterhall, and will report back when I have any information.....
6-A-SIDE DAY
Organisation shouldn't be that hard. I'm happy to do half of it, but being in Southampton, I'd need someone Brighton based to help.
First thing is to find out from the council, when a suitable ground would be available and what it would cost. I will try to find time to ring them...
