Irrelevent, the 500 page document still needs to be read, digested and replied to. Even without that, 4 days is not sufficient time to reply to the original document. I've been a Union rep and there's no way I would have accepted a mere 4 days when a member's job was on the line.
Opening gambit? What a clueless comment. No employee wirth an ounce of sense would go into a disciplinary hearng on a day when their rep wasn't available. No-one should be expected to have just one weekend to read, digest and reply to 500 pages of report either. The union won't have put anything...
