Quite. I recall being pretty shocked when I looked at the L2 table two weeks prior to the end of the season & spotted that Rovers were still vulnerable. Then they snatched a late win at Wycombe in the penultimate game and looked like they'd done all the hard work (3 points clear of Wycombe with...
I agree. Not sure of even my own rationale behind it but Oxford were always a small club, even when they were in the First Division. They were Wimbledon-esque in status.
Rovers would be a much larger club if they ever actually achieved anything.
Jamie Cureton, Barry Hayles, Jason Roberts, Marcus Stewart, Rickie Lambert, Bobby Zamora. Only Rochdale (Le Fondre, Murray, Lambert) can even get close to that record in lower league terms, surely?
Are they the biggest club to have been relegated to the Conference since automatic promotion/relegation was introduced?
I can only think of Luton as competition for this one. Luton have played at the top level more than Rovers have (I assume), but Rovers have always been relatively well...

It has come to the attention of Bristol Rovers FC that Wycombe Wanderers FC appear to have breached FA rules on Third Party Ownership.
It’s current...
If the responses on Twitter are anything to go by, I think, in the main, they are completely embarrassed by this.
It's the sort of action you might expect from someone like Vincent Tan, not the longstanding directors of a (once) proud Football League club. They won't succeed of course, but, if...
Bristol Rovers, relegated to non-league on goal difference this season, are seeking legal advice regarding Wycombe Wanderers, the team who finished immediately above them. This stems from an irregularity in the contract of Matt Phillips, last seen playing for QPR after a spell at Blackpool. The...
