Well the first part is clear. He hasn't requested to be let out of jail until the trial. With regard to pre-trial hearing, I presume that is going to go into detail as to how the trial is going to be conducted, ie whether there could be reporting restrictions, where the trial will be held etc...

If there is anything political to come out of this it should be that everyone who is registered and entitled to vote should go out next Thursday and exercise their democratic right and vote. Whichever way you wish but just go and vote. (and at every election for that matter!)
