I probably lived in Newhaven for longer than you so I know what it's like. How was I negative when I sung the praises of 3 other places? Newhaven has the worst High Street in Sussex, no banks and only one cash machine. The centre used to be vibrant but now there isn't one single decent shop...

Shoreham and Southwick, even parts of Portslade are nice enough areas. I wouldn't recommend Newhaven or Peacehaven though to anybody.
