No worse than any other major European city - arguably better...... Brighton included. Can get a decent meal for a tenner or so and a pint for a fiver. Hotel miles cheaper than a London equivalent.

Didn't think the crowds were too bad at all. Our guide (going with a tour group does mean skipping all the queues) highly recommended avoiding the summer completely when it's absolutely mobbed and 40⁰ with no aircon.
I went to spec out a walking route to the ground from the hotel (not 100% sure I did tbh as not sure which walkways will be open - can see where the majority of home fans will congregate though), that added 10k+ to my ambling about. Lovely day in great weather. Fantastic city, really looking...
