Money, and being sold promises and progression. And Money. If you get fired, you get a payoff - the Potter example is a good one - he apparently got a 12m payoff. Would probably have needed 2-3 years more absolute minimum to get that with us, so taking a year off isn’t any hardship. He doesn’t...

….but Owusu came to us from Chelsea…….goes both ways

It's simply not regression imo, anyone expecting progression to be linear - ie better every season -is deluded. We'll have seasons of over performance (last season was, massively) and those where we don't do so well. Overall the long term trend remains on the up....

Nah....as Jordan says they're just lazy with no ideas of their own. 'Copy Brighton' is all Boehly has got. We'll cope, and continue to be infinitely better run.

Regular top ten, occasionally in Europe and a trophy or two will do me fine.

Mid table club with no European matches

Wouldn’t think so….that’s short-termism and only good for a window or two at most, and one or two signings perhaps. Can’t imagine Jewell has been sold that as a long term career option - it’ll be more about replicating our processes for the longer term (which won’t work anything like as well...

Think that’s in relation to the club‘s own database……..Starlizard is separate again and even more protected. Albion are a client of Starlizard so wouldn’t have direct access to their database anyway.

If he's signed a contract with a notice period, it's not immoral to hold him to it. Full stop.

Much more senior job with a buyout clause ?
  14. dazzer6666

    [Albion] Sam Jewell

Why would they do that? Max would normally be a buyout of his notice period - ie salary for the period. Would be genuinely staggered if his salary was anywhere near that number.
  15. dazzer6666

    [Albion] Sam Jewell

Agreed - EL would normally dictate we can hold him to his notice period regardless, so we might do that. Hope so.

    [Albion] Sam Jewell

Yes, but a few months salary for a backroom staff won't move any dials in that respect

Peanuts to them in the great scheme of things.......
  18. dazzer6666

    [Albion] Sam Jewell

No - we're forcing him to see out his notice period
  19. dazzer6666

    [Albion] Sam Jewell

We choose to put him on gardening leave, not him. We could let him go straight away but of course he's then free to start his new job. Club have deemed it better to have him sit on his hands for several months rather than immediately start work on poaching current Albion targets. Makes total...

We're not going to match Chelsea-type salaries for either players or any other staff, full stop. No-one would sign such a contract, and even if they did any decent HR lawyer would tear it to shreds.
