BBC Reporter said the atmosphere in Windsor today is 'electric', the crowd, hundreds of whom had queued overnight to wish the Queen a happy birthday, burst into a spontaneous rendition of 'Happy Birthday' and 'Rule Britannia' which was a lovely touch.

Our Queen is 90 today. Time to celebrate a lifetime of public service and dedication to the country and the commonwealth. Speaks volumes of her that rather than a day of private celebrations she will do a walkabout in Windsor to allow the public to wish her a happy birthday.
