Hoping their opening bat, who's been given a 7 over bowling spell, is a wannabe quick so coming in off a long run and will be blowing when he comes out to bat.
Not much going on with this game, and not a huge amount of play in the England Lions game either.
But enough for Garton to remove South Africa's opener, Elgar. Looking forward to having him back playing for Sussex.
Looks like an even contest between bat and ball in Division 1, but ball completely dominant in Div 2 so far.
(Apart from Ben Duckett who somehow has 74 off 54 balls).
Saturday practice according to Sussex twitter:
"Chris Nash is out after suffering a concussion during practice on Saturday. We wish him a speedy recovery."
Looks a nicely balanced squad. Always fear that top order's got a collapse in them though. Amazing to think Magoffin, Shahzad, Garton, Evans, Beer are on the sidelines (for various reasons). Beer must feel slightly peeved after his performance against South Africa A side.
What do we reckon Gloucestershire will want to do here? Bowl first to assess conditions and see what happens, or avoid batting last at 8pm on a 4 day old pitch?
