I love my country too, but I find it hilarious that people are attacking Scotland for "disillusions of grandeur" for thinking about leaving the Union when hard Brexiteers think we are entering a phase of British Empire Two.

1) Hang onto England which doesn't want to part of anything and considers Scotland to be a family member which requires a handout every now and then.
2) Leave the UK and join the "much bigger than the UK" EU where you will be looked after and have a much bigger seat...
Exactly and Brexit has changed everything. The EU will protect them in the same they have stood with Ireland.
An independent Scotland will also be a very good position to attract English based companies (including international ones) to relocate over the border.

Spain have never said they would veto an independent Scotland joining the EU.
It's bit of a myth I'm afraid.
I think they'd prefer to re-apply and not assume automatic membership.
