There has always been casual labour, seasonal work, students who work to support their studies etc...
But when large High Street chains are doing it where the employee would actually prefer to have a full time job they are taking the piss.
Remember some of these stores...

I totally agree although understand some workers like to work like that.
Starting a business is a risk, but if you get it right you reap the rewards.
Zero hours contracts push the burden of risk onto the employee...
