In 2016/17 just before we were promoted i dug out the new ST prices.
Here's the increase for 24/25 and what they would have been if adj for inflation according to the BOE inflation calculator (for Nov 23)
Tickets have basically increased in the last 8 seasons just slightly below inflation...
Hundreds of millions of viewers around the world watch football on TV. (It rarely breaks a billion and then only just for World Cups) and many of them also attend football matches which you imply is in decline or a side show .
Which is why i said "both" anyway.
Well twenty is plenty was a scheme for away tickets and remarkably they are still only £30 having been introduced years ago. Its where for once the PL outstrips the EFL in terms of a fan centred offer. And also Is Modern football "rubbish" ? There's a lot to complain about it , agents fees...
Most ? - well i'm sure its both. As for attendance at football matches - across all tiers from the PL through to non league and including womens football are now at record highs, continue to grow and are experiencing a boom...
Agreed. It wouldn’t look good to both do it and spread unfounded rumours that it is . Which is why for the 4th or 5th time on this thread I’ll share that both Bloom and Barber have confirmed the travel subsidy is not being withdrawn..
The increases this year are on average 6% - when inflation is lower and falling. That said in the last four years there’s either been a freeze or a small below inflation increase.
I think your season ticket age for the year is based on your age on August 1st 2024 - given other posts in this thread (rather than when you start paying) . So i think you'll be 65+ for 24/25 . Congratulations !
There are some fans on here reading this thread genuinely worried about whether they can afford a season ticket next season given the increases, cost of living issues, and changes in circumstances. Perplexed why you're constantly - with no basis at all - sharing your confidence that the prices...
his claim or rather quote was to remind fans ( i think) that they don't run the public buses or the trains . Which is true. Can they spend more ££ to subsidise even further - journeys to the Amex . Then of course - that's their choice and to their credit, they can and often do when the...
i think not because they charge you for the rate at the time you renew. (ie: my son who was 21 in October is still paying , or rather I'm paying, the u21 rate)
They aren't removing the transport subsidy and Barber confirmed they wouldn't be doing so in comms before Xmas (in the Argus and in his programme notes) See above.
Ha ! Maybe it should be like Council Tax where you pay over 10 months not 12. As @Bozza says , for many of us, the idea of a lump sum payment for most but not all (my Dad always used to do that for his ticket when he had one) is a no-no so i much prefer it this way.
Agreed. Its an underappreciated part of the ST package. Other clubs in the PL either don't offer this, offer admin fees, make you sign up with third party finance companies, make you pay interest etc.
Doesn't like they've actually announced the ST launch - yet , despite the prices being uploaded to the ticketing site, so presumably it will be part of that bit of comms . Barber said this in one of his prog notes at Christmas.
“Travel to and from matches will continue to be significantly...
