Star Wars: The Force Awakens - with Spoilers - discussion thread

Agree with this. Not only is Rey a natural with te lightsabre she also seems to be very good at piloting a starship too... Also, Han to come back to life in the third fil owing to Plagueis' (I've accepted the inevitable :D) powers of such things and to be initially dark side for some reason...

Not unpredictable, just not utterly predictable.

What Bladders said - nothing to do with the inherent capabilities of Luke having a daughter, it's just so lazily predictable. I think the series deserves better than another plot retread.

Maybe so, but I'm sticking with the Leia's daughter thing, if only because it's a more palatable concept than Rey being Luke's daughter. However, like others have mentioned, I'd prefer she wasn't related to any of them - I just don't think Lucasfilm agree though. edit: I'd also like a female...

Yeah, I know I've got the the (mostly average) book with a decent image on the cover (edit: though of course this book is now of 'Legend' status rather than Canon). Maybe I expressed it wrong, just doesn't seem right to me :) Don't really know how to explain it :D

This is what I've been thinking also (assuming she's not a clone of Palpatine). I reckon she had a guardian or similar on Jakku who left her there, rather than Han or Leia. I like that but think it might rely on too much background knowledge to be workable - if it's any previous character I...

Oh OK - that was about the last time I saw him at the cinema (1980?) so maybe why I didn't recognise him :) Ta :)

I've read half of that book but it's quite boring imo :)

And when I say it's not as good as IV or V I mean only just :) Especially love the lighting effects used on the lightsabres to make them look just that bit more real. One question though (apologies if answered elsewhere) - who was the old fella Poe got the map off at the start of the film? The...

Not as good as IV or V but better than VI (and obviously better than those other ones). Daisy Ridley's Rey is the best of the new people who aren't Captain Phasma:) imo (and also very beautiful  ) strangely C3PO seemed very out of place in it and could have done without him really :) Was a...
