take a breather for what purpose? EU isnt going to change the agreement, UK is not going to come up with some substantial change anyway. its been discussed to death for 4 years. time to move on, parliament accept the deal or not, move onto negotiate future.
1. free movement of capital and goods mean you have to allow any business from across EU, so an outside company can setup in the lowest tax domicile to channel their sales/revenue through. example Amazon used to sell everything out of Luxembourg for lower VAT; Apple, Facebook, Google book sales...
remember that next time complaining about large US corp tax avoidance and high energy bills, both directly result of EU law. its fine to be a supporter of remaining, let not pretend they never passed any law or directive thats an imposition somewhere, government always does.
negotiating a trade deal for selling fish shouldnt be challenge since they want the fish from UK waters and there's nowt else around. a view from Spain is it could be a significant vote loser if they imports were blocked, they take their fish quite seriously.
is this so? this would mean committing to withdrawal agreement, then negotiation towards ~Norway relation. there isnt an option to go from current to ~Norway. also losing the customs union would be against the current Labour policy so i wonder if there is really a majority.
