    because after paying in through fuel duty and road fund duty, drivers pay several times over for the roads. while rail users dont, so general taxation contributes to running the network. the funny thing is, for season ticket holders its not such a bad deal, big sticker shock on the annual gold...

    yes, that ship is sunk. what they could do at least is improve the road to the standard of the Beddingham-Middle Farm, which is a respectable bit of road. from there to Polegate is poor and a Selmeston bypass would be in order too. would even £700m cover that?

    Announced where? awful stretch of road for a main artery through the country, they've been talking about this about 30 years so i wouldn't hold out any hope of change in the next few decades.
