well there's a thing. though i'll point out the truth is somewhere in between, as the Telegraph article notes it was on the cover of London Opinon in Sept 1914. there are imitations attributed to being used during the First world war too, so it was known.
i suggest you go and review your history books, then tell us what exactly what they where giving their lives for in the Somme, Ypres, Verdun etc.
at the very least a more sombre commemeration is warranted than Kitchener's image, selling the war.
i'm as patriotic as the next man (or probably more than some round here), but i find this a bit off. Its not really a war to celebrate, or commemorate for that matter, it was a pretty meaningless waste of a generation.
