Indeed. I thought we would get bluster and an "every intention to get children back to school as soon as possible" with Whitty and Vallance cringing alongside him. Instead he refused to be pushed on a definitive response
Sickening really isn't it. Not really sure how much more of it I can take. Struggling more and more to stay strong for others and it feels like hit after hit. Anyway. This isn't a counselling page and I think I just need to swerve news for a bit.
I'm more than happy to make the sacrifices. I'm no longer convinced any will work because of the high percentage willing to ignore them. I wasn't aware watching football on TV was such a massive thing that people are ignoring so would love to see the evidence that it's causing transmission rates...
I think a better approach would've been to insist all schools had today and tomorrow as emergency inset days pending a decision. The worst thing about the change of mind was all the kids going in today and potential risks from that
I agree. I was expecting him to match Scotland initially but pleased he has been bolder than that. The spell where my kids school.was shut for 3 weeks in November the online learning was way better than in lockdown 1 so I'm happy to go with that for a month or so
And is exactly why mine haven't returned to school today. I'm keeping them safe. It wasn't worth it for a day or 2 of increased risk factors.
I can picture Johnson stood between pillars fist raised with the final countdown playing but with countdown switched to lockdown
That's what annoys me most. Media appearances from Johnson yesterday and Hancock today about how safe schools are yet it seems they are on the verge of flipping that completely. They are no less safe tomorrow than yesterday
