Yep, seems to be a Cashzone nationwide initiative to start charging again. Went to get some money out of the one on Heene Road garage (Worthing) this morning, only to see it saying there would be a £1.95 charge when it used to be free.
I'm sure the reason they went to free in the first place...
Flying Scotsman steam sets off London Victoria fire alarm
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-44324691
Sum's up GTR' incompetence perfectly.
"The BBC understands fire alarms are normally switched off when the steam engine pays a visit to the central London terminus.
But station staff...
Sorry about that but it had starting to get very repetitive like a stuck record even though you were being given the answer. Like the kid in a back seat going, "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there...
You really are starting to get boring on this thread. Change the ****ing tune and do the ****ing research yourself.
Put yourself in their shoes for once in your miserable little life. You have a job you love doing and get satisfaction from doing. Terms are change and make things less safer for...
On the day after. Southern went to to the DfT with what they & the RMT had agreed on during the day that evening, come back the following day and reject it. RMT Then walked out.
Yes, perfectly safe.
"At least 15 serious accidents were recorded in the last decade, including three in 2015. In two incidents last year, people were pulled beneath the train." - From The Rail Accident Investigation Branch.
Try telling those 15 people it is PERFECTLY safe. Perfectly safe...
I don't know which trains you've been getting, but the ones I get that have that are only the old 313's. That's only because they don't have DOO capability.
The 377's sometimes have on OBS, but they don't control the doors, just check down the train when at a station.
Even though the system was breaking down WAY before any action from the unions? I remember having constant issues getting to Hove from Worthing for Jury Service early last Spring before any action from the unions started. Always ended up leaving to catch a train before the one that I would...
If Southern had that many ASLEF drivers there would never be a train late for late of crew.
You know only Southern staff would've been able to vote, not the whole of ASLEF.
Then also have, as has been suggested by others, both the guard & driver rostered onto the same trains for their shifts. That way, there is no train awaiting one or the other.
This and the fact that Southern's Managers idea of disaster control is to bury their heads into the sand after sticking...
I've been think about how the old slam doors used to operate, and how something similar, in terms of working practice, could be used as a middle ground to resolve the issue for the time being.
Think about it, the old trains didn't have ANYONE pressing a button to close the doors, but the guard...
That is actually quite disgraceful behavior by the government if true.
From what I gather, for the majority of the drivers it isn't about the money, and money they are losing because of the strike action. It is about the safety side due to the inappropriate equipment on Southerns 377 class'...
But Southern have said in the last few days that ANY train that is 6 carriages or less does NOT have to run with an OBS. It's about 10 pages back by now if you want to look for it.
