Fishy, in the same way as Lee Harvey Oswald is innocent, the 'moon landings' were filmed in a studio and Islamists weren't involved in 9-11? The collapsed transfer stinks of collusion between a corrupt Home Office official, a cardiologist and someone at the club. We live in dangerous times.

They shouldn't have let COG go so early in the window.

FC Zurich thought they'd banked mega money of circa £9m on an unproven wild card. The failed medical means that Christmas hasn't come early to Switzerland this year, leaving the Zurich management feeling "so near, so yet far".

Which PL class striker have we signed this summer?

Always the danger, being very late shoppers (for a striker). They'll be no relaxed and methodical working down the Winstanley spreadsheet list of striker targets now, of onto target no.3, then 4. 17th April to 31st August = there were 136 days to get on with it, with an unprecedented war chest...

The BBC comments are the same ilk as those on national newspaper websites, even the non-tabloid newspaper sites. A binfest of bitchy comments from enemies of the club in the article.

That would make us appear like Risdale's Leeds of 15 years ago. Making foolish offers, gratefully accepted by players and clubs across Europe.

I know what you mean. Jovetic is a CL class footballer, but would he really want to join us and we simply couldn't afford to pay his wages. He would command £100k plus per week. It was mentioned earlier this summer on NSC that circa £45k is our level. Regarding Dwanema, welcome to the...

"Desparate" being the key word. Without Lukaku, Everton will need strikers who actually score. Despite that need, Koeman doesn't see Niasse as part of their short term striking plans, which is telling.

The main Everton forum has Niasse on wages of £66k to £100k per week. It was mentioned earlier in the summer on NSC by those knowledgeable on such matters, that our PL stars might earn £40k to £45k. Is Niasse really worth that commitment, for a poor goal scoring record?

That could well be the case. Besides, some PL clubs don't always play with an out and out centre forward or striker, in a fluid formation. For example, Liverpool with Sturridge often out injured, use Firmino, Mane and Coutinho in front three of pace, swapping positions during games. Perhaps...
