[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

To add, RDZ will looking for quality players to be added to the squad this week, obviously defenders. Any manager is only as good as the players they have to work with. Taggart once said something along those lines.

Great post. Love the debate btw.

It’s the sort of thing Maureenho would do.

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

Liverpool faced a low block for several seasons, crazy OPTA stats in the favour, but so many draws. Literally 10 man defences. In the end they beat it, I must admit I can’t remember exactly how. But one part of it was becoming a real threat at set pieces. Robertson and TAA (total cost £10m)...

Interesting point. If most PL and EL opponents to us from now on stay in shape deep, to their hearts content allowing Dunk, the goalie and other CB to pass amongst themselves, RDZ will require a very different Plan B. Dyche of all coaches stumbled across a pretty obvious solution.

An issue, expertly exploited by Moyes, is that Milner is far further upfield than Veltman last season. Here are heat maps for Veltman last season, Milner this. It’s obvious to the eye in the stadium. Veltman often seems to be positioned near the home dugout when we play N to S. Milner...

The Athletic and that website are stating, what many said here in April, also cut n pasting articles a few years ago on how to beat Liverpool. A mass low block, don’t press Dunk & our goalie, wait for the mistake to counter. Plus our awful right side without Veltman. Now with a load of slow...

Guardiola’s also obsessive about a DM who never ventures forward. There 90 minutes to protect and plug gaps.

We’ll find out next season I expect. Imho he deserves the opportunity to manage a squad containing 22 stars in their positions.

Wide right? Because RDZ had pushed Milner 70 yards upfield.

1 to 7 is THE game plan. It's not unique against us. During Klopp's early years at LFC, almost every game they faced a 10 man low block defence, a lone forward hanging around near the centre circle supported by runners. End of game attempts on goal stats mirrored ours.

Imho he will go on to having greater success elsewhere. With Arab or US money, he'd have/be bankrolled to buy world class players x 2 for every position ...... including RB and DM!

Milner started as our RB, but was ambitiously positioned 70 yards up field.

Nsc isn’t a record of all my football thoughts. I don’t think I posted much prior to each game? Taking all 3 games: Luton - early doors in the game I was saying to my son that their big units on our right were causing lots of problems, opening us up. Old Milner was unfairly left on his own...

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

He played too many slow players down our right and no specialist RB. He took a risk and as with Everton it failed. Playing a nearly 40 year old RB 70 yards upfield as a creator was a risk too far imho. I hope he recognises the failings and acts from the next game, as do the entire group...
