Sometimes followed by “I think we should meet to discuss this further”.
[I admit not really irritating, but incredibly funny to see a knuckle-dragger unveil their limited debating...
“Revellers”.
We just used to say people out on the piss or out clubbing in a town centre, whereas “revellers” was reserved for 100,000’s seeing in the New Year in Trafalgar Square. Now it’s a gathering of two or more dickheads in any village or town centre at night,
The same club cricket bores bring these to life outside:
“On the front foot”.
“Put him on the back foot”.
“Keep the score ticking over”.
“Sticky wicket”
“Played with a straight bat”
“Bowled him a googly”.
“Hit him for six”.
“I’m sorry, that you were upset about that”.
= a faux apology from a bully, slyly intimating that the victim was oversensitive and their upset is an inconvenience. I’ve seen this in real life from a nasty boss to someone he’d mistreated.
