Just had an international call on our landline, an awful line:
Caller (in heavy foreign ancient): “Good morning, our system is showing there’s a problem with your internet”.
Me “Please can I have your bank details, so that I can transfer money to you?”
Caller “You’re mad you are”.
Me “You’re...
Terminate these calls, properly putting the landline receiver down.
If concerned that it is legitimate, look up the true phone number of the real organisation, and give them a call.
Never react to emails from banks or similar.
As someone said above, I feel for the elderly, who might not...
Had that BT call a few months ago, the last of a series of them. Once I was certain it was crooks, I launched into a monologue of abuse, not giving the wnkr a second to respond. I genuinely never do stuff like that, it was theraputic in a way.
