Managers seem to revert to that when their team's conceding loads of goals and losing as a result, for example Chelsea at the start of last season.
We don't concede too many.
Scoring goals is our achilles heel.
True. The 3 in CM and Izquierdo had poor games. I gave DS the benefit of him possibly not being 100% fit. But the other 3 spent the last hour of more second to everything in mind and body ... making Hudd’s midfield looking like they’ve recently torn the PL apart.
It's been equally noticeable all season, he simply doesn't have any these days.
When we did well in Jan/Feb, we pushed up and got plenty of support up to him.
Today after Duffy's incredible blunder, our midfield got nervous for an hour and retreated 20 metres, leaving Murray on his own.
True. Gross, Propper, Stephens and Izquierdo overall, were outfought by their opponents today. Not to mention Duffy and Schelotto's non existent or panicky defending.
Murray had a poor game, then much younger Ulloa (fresh legs and age on his side) was awful ... contributed nothing.
If we stay up and buy a couple of strikers in the summer, they might be better quality than Ulloa. At least at this stage, the club aren't committed. Decision, decisions.
Love the player, but yes ... his 34 year old legs need a summer off.
Can’t think of another first 11 in the PL where the centre forward chosen has zero pace, allowing opposing central defenders to easily win EVERY foot race for the ball.
The club need’s a new centre forward with pace a.s.a.p.
