    I think I read a while back that Mark Hollis retired circa 15 years ago, he actually meant it and has stuck to his guns. Very unsual when all and sundry have made comebacks.

    The first new wave band to move to electronic dance. Someone told me recently that the legendary Georgio Moroder admitted that New Order influenced his future work. Until then, he was thought of as the godfather of electronic dance music.

    Good shout. I didn't mention that as I remember buying the 12" from Rounder Records in the summer of 1984. Still listen to that alot, spurred on by just reading his interesting autobio.

    I saw The Smiths gig around that time at Brighton Poly promoting that album. An unforgettable night. A brilliant time for music for me as I loved synth pop, indie and dance music.
