Dinner at the New Steine Bistro last week. Very nice. Small cosy restaurant with a small menu. Wild Boar terrine was great and so was the steak. A little expensive if you pay full whack but they are often on Groupon with a three course meal for 2 at £18 which is fantastic value.

Went to Jamie's last week - it was OK. It was a special Christmas deal and platter to start was very good as was the dessert. The main of pork belly was disappointing and the palentta (sp?) chips were utterly vile. Chips should be POTATO Jamie ! For this trip 5/10. Sad really as I took the kids...

I've found the Chilli Pickle to be rather pompous and up it's own backside. Not a place I choose to eat when I want a curry.

Recent outings : Terre a Terre - OK, nice food but too 'rich' for my liking. Can't put my finger on it but I was full but not full. Fantastic flavours for veggie food though - 6/10 Sini - had the Lamb main - wow - tonnes of meat with veg. Girlfriend had the seafood stew and that was fantastic. 9/10

Many places to be honest - I find the Chilli Pickle overly expensive and up it's own arse. If I want a posh curry then maybe Memories of India, if I want a traditional 'British' curry then Curry Mahal on Portland Road. The people I've seen in the Chilli Pickle appear to be the same people that...

I've heard good and bad about this place. Is it like the Chilli Pickle in that it's a little bit hip and trendy to like it and that you would get a better curry ( in this case burger ) elsewhere ? EDIT - I'm asking you as we tend to share the same taste in food !

Hmmm ..... I went there last year on a Groupon voucher and they served some of the worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant in B&H.

A visit to The Foragers in Hove last night. Always enjoyed the food there and last night was no exception. Out of the two excellent starters we had it was difficult to pick the best - Cauliflower Cheese with pickled apple and Ham Hock Terrine with a crispy egg. Mains were great too - Rib Eye...

Admittedly a few years ago now but when I worked in hotels the Head Chefs were targeted on 80% GP.

If you want to stay the Groupon deal is worth it. £169 for a room but the upgrade for £30 was very worthwhile. That includes dinner and breakfast.

Spent a very pleasant evening at Langshot Manor in Horley at the weekend. Five course taster menu is very very good. The pork 3 ways main and the mushroom tagliatelle were both fantastic. The garden vegetable starter was .... well .... unusual but clever nether the less ( the malt used for the...

I recently went to the Walton branch. Nice burgers but as you say a tad expensive. I wasn't taken by the canteen style of service either - queuing up to order your food made it feel very McDonalds like.

Went to the Gingerman last night ..... nice food which I can't really fault but a little over priced. The presentation was superb but there was just not enough food.

Yep, nice little place with decent food. Food is very reasonably priced and it's BYO so you don't get stung with over priced drinks.

If you mean L'Eglise then yes. It's OK. A bit overpriced and not particularly French. The Arrogant Frog in Brighton is much better.

I've not been for a year but personally I think Graze has gone down hill. There is now less choice than say 3 years ago. I also don't appreciate the 12% service charge on top of a price that is already on the high side. Been to a couple of decent places this weekend : The Foragers - as usual...
