I don't know to be honest - I last went there about 6 years ago. They seemed to struggle because they opened a takeaway just over the hill opposite Patcham High School and the restaurant was doing that cooking as well.

They went down hill a while back - I haven't bothered going back to see if they've improved again.

Patcham is a decent place to live. As you say, fairly easy to get out onto the A23 / A27 ( although early morning can be a bit busy ). A number of pubs within walking / staggering distance. Good local schools - Patcham Infant School is very good and the senior school is improving all the time...
