They were bloody brilliant. I kept wondering during the game though if they could ever keep it up. Which they did. But can they play with that intensity all game every game?
What utter nonsense. Yes Spain didn't score that many goals in the WC but their play was hardly passing it back to the keeper. Rubbish. They completely outplayed Germany in that tournament. Made it look easy, against the team everyone was saying were so good, almost like a training ground game...
no you didn't, apologies, that's a reference to the OP which was what made me post. Just seems daft (for the OP) to write off an entire style of football on the basis of a team, reaching the end of their dominance.

This Spanish team had run it's course. After 2 European championships and one World Cup, it's not really surprising, and they have done it with some sublime football.
Didn't an excellent Italian side's possession football beat our cut and thrust the other day?
