Who could forget Procol Harum's epic 1977 musical poem "The Worm and the Tree"?
Actually, most people it seems, and with good reason (spoken as someone who was a Procol Harum fan). It was overly long self-indulgent prog-rock released at precisely the time when everyone else was throwing overly...
Steinski's 'The Motorcade Sped On' is one of my top tracks of the 80s. As is Colourbox's 'Just Give 'Em Whiskey'.
In fact it was the Colourbox similarities that got me into PSB. Sampling may be a 30-year-old idea, but if done properly it works for me.
No one else getting excited about the release of the new Godspeed album, 'Asunder, Sweet And Other Distress', at the end of the month?
It seems they've finally got around to recording "Behemoth" in the studio.

Went a bit wrong after that though. Pleasant Dreams and Subterranean Jungle were both awful.
If you could have a run of Faith, Pornography, The Head on the Door, Kiss me..., Disintegration

But for me, The Top is - well - just a wee bit sh1t, and pollutes an otherwise unimpeachable series.
Nothing wrong with Reckoning. My fondest REM memory of all is seeing them at the Hammersmith Palais in 1985 and the amps failed about halfway through the set. They did a mind-blowing unplugged version of So. Central Rain whilst the techie people fixed the problem. Beautiful.
When it first came out I was disappointed too, after the brilliance of Fables and Pageant. For many many years Fables was my favourite. But as time went by I found myself listening to Document more and more and it grew on me.
Now it's my favourite by far and gets played more than all the rest...
Indeed. So while we're on opinions, I reckon
From Her to Eternity, Firstborn is Dead, Kicking Against the Pricks, Your Funeral..., Tender Prey is the best Nick Cave run, although like Bowie's 1970s albums you could pretty much take any series of 5 consecutive NC albums until the rather dull...
EVOL, Sister, Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty
I don't count Made in USA, which came out between EVOL and Sister as it wasn't an official album, just an obscure soundtrack to some indie movie no one has ever seen (including me, and I'm practically the biggest SY fan on the planet).
