Well it's the testimony of more than one victim. I expect it has happened (I'd have to look it up). What was the evidence against Max Clifford? Not much other than the victims' testimonies I think. Same for Rolf Harris. I don't think there was much in the way of proof, other than claims by...
No it isn't. There were two parts to my sentence: 1) "the people who he raped say that he raped them."
2) "more than enough to put someone away."
We're discussing the first part, because Mellotron said
"Your evidence was someone saying something."
We're not dealing with the word of one person...
I said (and you just quoted me) 'people'. That's more than one person. But each time you claim I said 'someone', which is one person. I was also talking about this specific case. Not any case where anyone claiming anything is enough, but this specific case, where two people have made specific...
I know you're not asking me, but I wouldn't and most here wouldn't I'm sure, but that doesn't mean no one would. However, whilst I understand that some people would lie to get money, do I think these two people are, given how great their relationship must have been with Jackson? No. He was their...
The documentary was doing one thing - putting forward the story of two people (and their families) who claim they were abused by Jackson. That's it. So I don't see a problem with the 'narrative', it wasn't trying to provide two sides to the story, just the account of those families. Either Wade...
Watch episode one and you can see how the families went along with it. It was a great opportunity for their kids to have amazing careers, the kids were incredibly happy and assured their parents everything was fine. The kids didn't think they were being abused.
Yes I agree. I was just joking that, according to those arguing with me, you're 100% sure he's guilty without having any evidence (obviously there is evidence).
My opinion is that you're right, I'm just poking fun at those trying to mock me.
Most of us have never idolised someone to the extent Wade idolised Jackson. On top of that, they became great friends and Wade's career was helped greatly by Jackson. Given that, why on earth would he then make all this up?
Yes I do.
Yes. There is more than one type of evidence, so I'm not sure why you're bringing up a random example.
Yes, and when the accounts from different victims match each other, their statements can be used as evidence.
No shit.
Which has nothing to do with what I'm saying.
Witness...
Yes, multiple people with a believable account of repeated rape is not the same as one person saying you're a mass murderer, and you go to prison.
No it wasn't. The evidence I'm referring to is the testimony of more than one person (we're talking about the Jackson case here). Not 'someone'. That...
*Sigh* again
No I did not say 'saying something' is enough. I was replying to a post which said 'there is no evidence'. That post was incorrect, and I said "There is evidence - the people who he raped say that he raped them. That's evidence, and would be more than enough to put...
Yes, if someone rapes a few children, and those children testify that they've been raped by the same man, and their testimony stands up to scrutiny and is believable, then that can be enough for someone to be convicted.
