Watch episode one and you can see how the families went along with it. It was a great opportunity for their kids to have amazing careers, the kids were incredibly happy and assured their parents everything was fine. The kids didn't think they were being abused.

Yes, if someone rapes a few children, and those children testify that they've been raped by the same man, and their testimony stands up to scrutiny and is believable, then that can be enough for someone to be convicted.
