Yeah, so you sell your home, move the money, and when it's time to pay your debts you say you're skint. Although I haven't had the need to do this myself, I'm not guessing. Aren't you an accountant coolJ? There are people who specialise in helping with this sort of thing. It's all very dodgy.

She's been in a home for years, with house prices rising, I can't see how she hasn't had plenty of equity in the home.

She's been earning so much money, I can't see how she's close to bankruptcy. I imagine she's just trying to protect her assets.

I don't understand how she's virtually skint. She sold her house for £950k (not sure if it was the only place she owned, I doubt it), and has had do pay about £131k for this case. I imagine she also had significant savings. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
