You raise a good point - I subscribe to Sky, as I have for many years, so this victory is in part thanks to me. As Chris and the team celebrate tonight, I am part of that celebration. I shall raise a glass and toast them in reciprocation

That's basically what I'd imagine. He might have even had to tactically throw the first stage to so that he wasn't in yellow for the whole tour. Indeed :)

I thought you were talking about this year's tour. Is he having a really bad time trial?

If Froome was in AG2R, and Bardet was in Sky, who do you think would have won the tour? Well, apart from Landa that is. Bardet wouldn't have beaten Froome. I know they were isolated, but Bardet didn't get left behind at any stage. In fact, he beat Chris over the tour except for the time-trials.

Yes I know how it works. But because Sky were favourites and always leading, the onus was always on them to be at the front, and it's not like Bardet etc had no teammates. I didn't think that early in the tour, just as it went on he seemed to run out of steam. And I think he made a mistake...

I know. If he is doping, he's not doing it right :) Aru did take the lead, and if he was as strong as Froome, he could have won. It's more necessary to have the best team when you know that the others are all against you. All that really happened in the Tour is that Sky controlled the races...

They didn't win the Tour. And Wiggo didn't come back after winning it. Froome is a great rider, and IMO deserves some respect. Yeah, it turned out that not only were they all doping, so were all of their rivals. Chris has been just a few seconds ahead of his rivals all tour, there have been no...

What? I've not noticed England being worse than other countries when national anthems are played. I didn't notice them booing Mikel Landa. And talking of Landa, he deserved a place on the podium. Not that I'd have wanted Bardet to miss out, but Landa has been unbelievable and would have easily...

Having just watched the women's race in Marseilles, I can declare that that format is shit.

So, not a lot happening on the road, and they're discussing the unwritten rules, and Aru attacking Froome when he had a mechanical. They're also adding in the fact that there is an imbalance due to the different budgets within teams, as if that makes it then ok. IMO, the problem is that if you...

Indeed. I'm not sure he'd have won 5 if Cav and Sagan were there. If Kittel kept winning, Sagan wouldn't have just sat back and watched, he'd have at attacked during the stage etc. Cav hadn't been in great form, but he's enjoyed taking Kittel's wheel in the past, so may have managed to beat him...

Yeah I thought I might as well post if no one else will. I'm not bored by the Sky train, I'm just constantly impressed. The work those guys put in is as impressive as winning the tour. Perhaps the difference is that I gave up watching the tour many years ago because of all the doping, while...
