It doesn't matter, I'm not trying to give Machiavelli grief, just defending those that correctly mentioned Preston.
The point is, there are times when we defend a lead with an extra solid midfielder and it's a bit stressful to watch. It has worked most of the time (not quite all). There may be...
No it wasn't. The comment made was "We've won every game when we've taken the lead ...".
That's wrong (2 games). Sure, he could have said "we've won every game where we've scored first", but he didn't.
And in the context of this thread, defending a lead at the end of a game doesn't depend on...
Good point well made. I think I overlooked that.
I think most of us feel the same. Given some of the scorelines in the last 12 months we're obviously not switching to full defence all the time, but it does happen. I didn't like seeing Knocky subbed for Skalak against Wednesday as I felt...
We were 2-1 against Preston and didn't win.
EDIT - I see Preston have been mentioned above and you people need a pedant to explain. Preston were 1-0 up. We equalised. We then 'took the lead'. We didn't win.
Yep, that's it, our success is down to luck. It was also luck that we got so close last year.
I'm not suggesting you can't question the tactics at all, but to state as a fact that it is more luck that judgement is daft.
