Big bug-bear with me, unless you have sight problems, I never see a need for it, and if you have other people around you, well ...... but then some people are just oblivious to others.
Sorry, that made me chuckle. Other peoples' habits are one of the worst things, and if it wasn't for iPods, I may have gone postal along time ago. This morning i had a guy permanently texting - which I wouldn't mind, but he had his key-click on - rather thoughtless IMO.
I agree, it's not great, but I want to keep a log to see if it is as bad as I feel it is. We remember the bad journeys mush more than the others, but without having my own tangible figures to go on, it's difficult to say whether it's more in the mind or real.
Indeed. I switched from your train to the early one a few years ago because seats were starting to become scarce, if it carries on like this, mine will be the same (though it will drop off over the next weeks). I don't have an earlier LB train to get !
It may be a little sad, but I think I may keep my own log this year to see how bad it really is. 10 mins late this morning - and exceedingly busy on the train for some reason, was standing by Hove today, which has got to p*ss you off if you've paid 4.5k.
Apparently "only" causing 20 min delays, so presumably isn't that bad. Fortunately, I'm working at home today anyway. Back up to the smoke tomorrow, though.
But if it left some poop behind on the rail, it could derail the next train through. Better turn off the power supply to the Southern network until they can clear it up. Nobody will need it in the next couple of hours, will they.
I see they still have this message up ...
"Services between South Croydon and East Croydon are subject to delay, alteration and possible cancellation owing to an earlier electrical problem in the South Croydon area".
This message has been up since about 9 this morning, so given that the...
I know I've said it before, but I've been doing this now for 25 years and I would say (as would many others I know) that the service now is far worse than it was when I started, and I don't think that's looking at the old days through rose-tinted specs. I remember after I'd been commuting for...
Oh, I agree, I get back as much as I can. Having done this for 25 years now and the service worse now that it's ever been, I get mightily p*ssed off with the service.
It may be just me though, but it's not right if people are claiming for trains that they were never on or never intended to...
Interesting site I will look at that closer. Surely though, if anyone is using that information to claim against a train that they didn't attempt to take, that is some sort of fraud - I've wondered that for a while, not that I think anyone can really prove anything, so I doubt any action would...
Presumably, when Southern do their customer surveys and get a 96% satisfaction rate, that is the line they use to poll. I doubt if it's our line TBH. Although, if they have completed the works on time today (NR rail, that is, not Southern), then fair play to all involved, though I've worked at...
Hardly a surprise, though, is it. We all know from experience. I've not really planned to go up tomorrow from the off, think
Fri is unlikely, but still hoping for Mon.
