Yeah, makes sense, but surely it would have been better to get them straight back in under the pressure of knowing that they were effectively -193 for 0. Lets face it, a dodgy start to their second innings, could have lifted Lancs' confidence. Fortuantely, they have started OK though.

Can anyone suggest a reason why Buthcher didn't make Lancs follow on? Surely its WAY more difficult to win a game if you have to follow on. Do you think he's trying to make eveyone sweat a little?

I really can't see Lancs winning at the Oval with Surrey scoring 427 in the first innings.
