I went to Portsmouth on the train this morning, so picked up a Metro. Vincent's father was working on a farm in Kent ( well more of an estate) owned by an elderly man. There seems to be a lot of doubt about the situation as the rich old farmer has recently changed his will.
Apparently the bloke featured on the news, tearing down the flowers, and binnig them, isn't from the area. He admitted he made his way to the road to deal with it, so he is a sort of vigilante.
I know this is a Daily Mail link, but lots of quotes and opinions from the travellers and residents. It seems the vigilante who ripped the flowers down, is not a local. He also took a lot of the bouquets to a local cemetery...
I suspect Mr Osborn-Brooks will not be returning to his home, but will move elsewhere. I know I would want to.
Edit to add the London Fire Brigade has fitted 4 smoke alarms to the house, because of threats of reprisals from the travelling community.
I used driving offences, as an example of where suspects can switch. Speeding is a summary offence, so you wouldn't be arrested, but sent the charge in the post.
If you are a suspect drink driver, you take a breath test, and the minute it shows up, you are cautioned ie entitled to legal advice...
Any witness has to make a statement, and sign it to say it is correct. The police will have a fairly good idea who is a suspect and who is a witness. If later they find out, the witness has lied to cover up the fact they were a suspect, they also get done for peverting the course of justice...
There is absolutely no way, on God's earth, I would ever think of building a shrine, or taking flowers to the scene of the crime.
If anything, I would stay out of the way, if, for instance, one of my relatives had killed someone in a driving incident.
Cemeteries are the place for flowers...
Then let them build their shrine where they live, and not keep intimidating the neighbours and the poor chap who can't go home. He didn't ask for any of this and will still have to attend the coroner's inquest.
They are taking this to the victims, not the other way around.
I've just watched BBCSouthEast news which is showing the road because it is in Kent. The 'grieving family' are verbally attacking the neighbours for taking down the flowers.
Mr Osborn Brooks can't go home yet as his house is boarded up, the police are parked on his drive, and his neighbours...
