No. Wolves were an expected 3 points so still 17 over. Edit: Sorry, I’m wrong. They were only expected on the European tracker. So yes 20 over!

The top 4 is still on!

Well we’ve won 11 out of 23 (as close to half as possible) and we’re not top 4.

Edit: ignore my previous post I’ve worked out my mistake.

I like this table. It correctly showed that Newcastle’s position was slightly artificial and now they are slipping back a bit. As for Spurs the gap is now 7.

The thing is maybe this season will be lower than normal. A top 4 tracker could show us as being under but Liverpool, Chelsea and possibly Tottenham from last season’s top 4 won’t make the top 4 this year. So a lower than normal number of points might secure top 4.

Whenever it does appear this season it will be comfortably earlier than any other season.

The only problem is that’s it’s harder to out perform the tracker when it’s predicting more points. In our remaining 19 games the tracker has us down to win 6 games, we have to win those just to keep up and then that leaves us with 13 games to try to out perform the tracker. In our first 19...

I love this table because it’s the only one I’m aware of that adjusts for how hard everyone’s fixtures have been. It’ll be fascinating to see if it’s correct that Newcastle aren’t as good as they seem.

I think it’s every teams’ comparison to getting 40 points. Therefore as most teams will get over 40 points the pluses are more than the minuses.
