Saw The Popguns on Thursday at the Prince Albert... As brilliant as ever, well I say 'as ever' it was about 30 years ago saw them in a double header with Crawley's brilliant Spitfire at the Pavilion theatre... Where does the time go ?

Russell Hastings but he is the regular vocalist... Some young guy who looked like he should be in Modern Romance stood in on the bass... The Buzzcocks really were poor with Diggle doing the vocal now Pete no longer with us

From the Jam were also without Bruce Foxton (sickness) :oops: so effectively None the Jam... Think a refund should be in order but fancy the 2 chance scenario (fat and no) will apply

Off to annual From the Jam shindig tomorrow, this time at the Centre Support from The Buzzcocks and Big Country So Big Country without Stuart Adamson The Buzzcocks minus Pete Shelley The Jam without Paul Weller Otherwise all good :D

. Wolfgang Flur on Saturday @ the Conc 2... Very enjoyable from the ex Krafty werker tho more Fatboy slim than Europe Endless... Highlight for me was opening Brighton duo 'Anzahlung'...Like a Suicide/Fad Gadget mash-up absolutely loved them

. The Selecter @ St Peters Church, part of the 'Modern World' gubbins Great 1 3/4 hour set, most of Too Much Pressure and blinding covers ( The Avengers, Train to Skaville ) made it a good start to the Mod (ish) festival... Onwards to that Ace face Nick Hayward next Friday

. Saw The Beat @ Concorde 2 on Thursday... Dave Wakeling and co nailed a pretty much greatest hits set, kudos to the sax player who did a great job being Saxa... Wandered out after and there's Dave shaking hands saying thanks for coming...Great bloke

Was there and they were brilliant... Can't believe it's over 1/4 of a century since I saw them at the Essential Festival at Stanmer Park... Really like the support, Micko and the Mellotronics...Well worth checking out

. Last Wednesday saw The Professionals in Tunbridge Welles Forum... Pretty small venue, beautifully done out (an ex public toilet I believe) The support Desperate Measures were great fun & Cookie etc blasted out stuff from the new album SNAFU and old favs... Great time had, looking forward...

. First trip ever to The Roundhouse next weekend... Heaven 17 playing the first two Human League albums, Reproduction and Travelogue in full... Apparently Matin Ware asked Phill Oakey to reprise his singing but he refused... Ho hum never mind

. Isobel Campbell @ The Komedia this evening... More Vashti Bunyan than Belle and Sebastian but hey, that's ok... 'They told me to talk' summed up her interaction with the ,amazingly for the Komedia, hushed audience...

Snow Patrol @ Chalk 15th Dec, £20 and you get the new CD via Resident... Rude not to, getting the gig for about £6 !

Not Rockaway Beach, but have been to the last 3 Electric Dreams at Butlins and seeing the bands is a doddle...The smaller bands on late afternoon with the headliners on last, the same as most festivals...Never missed a band yet, looking forward to The British Electric Foundation this year
