OGH has just hooked up with Royston Town in the Southern League (Division 1 Central).
I think that's the same level in the pyramid as Peacehaven & Telscombe.
It was Poyet who insisted Harty stick around long enough to play in the Sussex Senior Cup Final, and subsequently made him captain.
Harty really didn't want to play as he felt he was getting too much attention. He loves football, but HATES the limelight.
But it was a fine send-off for him.
Just messaged OGH via Facebook. Says he is having trouble logging in to NSC.
I asked him if it was true he was leaving Sussex for Essex...

However, he did have two more seasons (and a Cup Final) after that with us.
He 'set up' Brighton's last-ever goal at Withdean, dummying the ball to allow Matt Sparrow through to score. It was...
Can't say people were quite so charitable towards the end of his career - "... hasn't scored for four years", "... old, slow", "... work rate alone shouldn't get him into the team" etc.
Nothing a bit of perspective couldn't cure though.
